5K Run and Walk

This USATF certified course is run through the Alger Heights neighborhood. All participants registered before October 22, 2011 will receive a race T-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed for anyone who registers after this date. All walkers will receive a time. Strollers are allowed, but please line up behind those without, to be considerate. Please no dogs, bikes, skateboards, or rollerblades on this course.

Awards are given for the Overall Male and Female Open, Masters, and Grand Masters winners, and the 1st through 3rd place Male and Female winners in each age category. Age category awards are based on chip time.

***New for 2011*** Age Categories are 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and older.

Kids Fun Run

9:45 AM, Alger Middle School Track

Anyone age 3 and older is welcome to enjoy this one lap around the track FUN RUN. All runners must register. Race can be run at no charge, but participants that would like a T-shirt should pay a $5.00 fee. Please encourage and praise our young athletes for being active and healthy.

**Parking**

Parking is available on side streets that are not on the race course and in commercial lots around the neighborhood. Please walk if at all possible. Please review the Parking Map for additional details.

Costume Participation

All runners, walkers, participants, and oglers are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes to celebrate the holiday. Costumes should be family friendly. Prizes will be awarded for creativity, originality, and cuteness.

Packet Pick-Up

At Alger Middle School Gym, located at 921 Alger St SE, Grand Rapids, MI on Friday, October 28, 5:00-7:00PM and Saturday, October 29, 7:30-8:45AM.

Volunteers

The Alger Heights Halloween 5K can only be a great race experience with the help of many volunteers. Volunteer opportunities involve setting up the course, registration, traffic control, water stations and more. If you are interested in volunteering please email alger5K@gmail.com.
